Sonia’s Peru Cycle Challenge for Charity

In addition to coping with the altitude, the hills and camping, I also aim to raise £6,000 for The Openwork Foundation's Cares 4 Kids Appeal. The Foundation supports voluntary organisations across the UK and overseas helping socially, mentally or physically disadvantaged children. Further details can be found at The Openwork Foundation. At the end of the trip we will visit Amantani, one of the projects supported by the Foundation. Amantani is an organisation that manages 3 boarding houses near to Cusco. Their aims are to combat schooling problems for indigenous children, who not only have to walk up to 8 hours each day to get to school, but are often alienated by a curriculum that makes no provision for indigenous communities. If you would like to sponsor Sonia please visit Sonia's Fundraising Page. Alternatively you can send a cheque made payable to The Openwork Foundation with a Gift Aid Declaration form, you can email Jane who will send you the form [email protected] You can follow Sonia's adventure via Twitter at Sonia on Twitter.
